PWHD ConsultingPWHD Consulting is a full service issues management and public affairs group affiliated with the Patten Wornom Hatten & Diamonstein law firm in Newport News. The principals are two partners in the firm: Alan Diamonstein, who served as Newport News’ representative in the House of Delegates for 33 years and who is nationally recognized for his involvement in housing and community development issues; and Donald Patten, a former Vice-Mayor of the City of Newport News and former President of Virginia Trial Lawyers Association recognized for his leadership in health care issues and real estate partnerships.

Chris Bridge, the Director of PWHD Consulting, specializes in public policy advocacy, media relations and legislative services. She coordinates strategic alliances with individuals and organizations offering expanded capabilities for multi-media communications services, business development services, grassroots campaigns and special events management.

A capabilities profile of the two members of the consulting team who serve as your direct contacts for issues management includes:

  • Alan Diamonstein has a distinguished record in housing and community development issues and policies. He has served on several Presidential Commissions and led the Virginia Housing Study Commission for more than 20 years. He specializes in project finance, economic development law and real estate ventures. As a senior member of the House of Delegates, he served as the chairman of several key legislative committees, and was a budget conferee on the Appropriations Committee for many years.

  • Chris Bridge has more than 15 years of experience in media relations and public policy advocacy at federal, state and local levels. She has positive and effective working relationships with legislators of both parties, as well as state and local agencies and organizations. She is knowledgeable about regulatory and permit processes, the legislative and budget process and local government. Her experience includes service as a lobbyist for Virginia’s railroads, press secretary for Virginia Governor Jerry Baliles, state director and constituent services manager for U.S. Senator Chuck Robb, legislative liaison for several local governments and institutions, and a senior staff advisor for housing and community development programs.

Their clients include residential and commercial real estate development firms, local governments, non-profit institutions, shipping interests, sports and entertainment companies, hospitality industry businesses, and technology application businesses, among others.
