2021 VTLA Advocacy Seminar
PWHD asbestos and products liability partner, William W.C. Harty, spoke yesterday at the VTLA’s 2021 Advocacy Seminar in Richmond on “Streamlining the Evidence at Trial – Use of Offensive Motions to Narrow the Issues.” Harty’s segment focused on taking an expansive approach to trials by starting at the motion stage to educate the trial judge on the facts, issues, and legal arguments, and set the stage for the trial.
This year’s seminar was entitled, “Turning the Corner: Trial Prep and Strategy in the New Normal,” and was chaired by PWHD asbestos and products liability partner, Erin E. Jewell. The seminar focused on recent legislative changes which impact Virginia trial practice as well as trial preparation tips. Jewell also serves on VTLA’s Executive Council as the association’s Parliamentarian.
