Erin E Jewell nominated Parliamentarian of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (“VTLA”)
PWHD is pleased to announce that Asbestos & Products Liability partner, Erin E. Jewell, was recently nominated Parliamentarian of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (“VTLA”). As Parliamentarian, Jewell joins VTLA’s Executive Council and serves on VTLA’s Board of Governors. Jewell has served on VTLA’s Board of Governors since 2012, has served as a VTLA District Governor, and is a past Chair of VTLA’s Women’s Caucus and Young Trial Lawyers Leadership Committee.
VTLA is a voluntary bar association established in Williamsburg in 1959, which is dedicated to enhancing knowledge, professionalism and skills of trial lawyers and is committed to improving the law and fairness of Virginia’s system of justice.
Jewell continues the firm’s legacy of leadership within VTLA. PWHD partners Donald N. Patten and H. Duncan Garnett served as Past Presidents of VTLA and on VTLA’s Executive Council. Both continue to serve on VTLA’s Board of Governors. Patten served as VTLA President in 2000-2001, and Garnett was VTLA President from 2004-2005. PWHD partner, Robert “Bobby” Hatten, was the first recipient of VTLA’s Courageous Advocate Award in 1986 for his groundbreaking work in the representation of asbestos victims, and for his leadership in a grassroots political organization that successfully persuaded the Virginia General Assembly to adopt a special discovery statute for asbestos victims. Hugh B. McCormick, III, and Jennifer W. Stevens have previously served on VTLA’s Board of Governors. William W.C. Harty has served on various VTLA committees, and each of the Asbestos & Products Liability attorneys are members of the VTLA.
